Internet Travel Network - US specific info. Flight details and holiday info from a US base. Probably OK to arrange the next leg of a trip if you are already in America.

ABTA - Agent info. Gives details of the member agents and the special skills they have.

Travel.org - US specific travel info. Vast resource of info about US and the rest of the world, with accommodation, flights and holiday info.

Air Miles UK - Free stuff. Use your air miles to get free entry, flights and holiday discounts. Site is for members only, but offers are good.

1000 Tips 4 Trips - Posted by fellow travellers. This site is intended to act as a guide for those setting off on their travels, warnings from others about the pitfalls etc.

English Tourist Board - Tourist information. Find out about events and attractions, accommodation and special happenings around the country. Site looks good and is easy to use.

All-In-One British Timetables - Travel information. Links page to nearly all the travel info you need. Trains and ferries are listed, but not coaches. Also links to travel companies.

British Waterways - Canal info. Excellent site about unexpected subject. Well put together to tempt you into a canal boat trip. Useful navigable map.

UK Travel Guide - Travel info. Offers details of timetables to get around the country, along with a wealth of other info from bicycles to cybercafes.

UK Hotel Bookings - City and country hotels. A few areas covered, with price lists, but no online booking. A phone number is offered where bookings can be made.

Smoothhound - Hotel and guest house finder. Literally thousands of accommodation options, search by area, then price etc. Good listings with detailed info.

The Good Guide to Britain - UK events and info. Guide to the best parts of the country, by the quality of its pubs primarily. Useful for events by region or date.

Travel UK - Find hotels to suit you. Accommodation finder for the whole country. Search by area then by type to find contact details.

Virtual London - Info supplied by London Tourist Board. Find out about some of London's major attractions. Gives detailed info about London walks, but has annoying interface.

Wellington Lodge Llamas - Llamas in North Yorkshire. Really bizarre to find llamas in our climate, but trekking is available here, as is B&B. Make sure to look at the Photo Gallery.

Country Walks - Government info on open access areas. Search a database for categories such as easy access, views, or plant interest. Look in your local area or further afield.

TelMe Travel Club - Finds the cheapest flights to suit you. Really easy to use, and very easy to understand. Once you decide which airport you are travelling from , it returns a fare that is the total price for all those travelling, including taxes.

Expedia - Flight site. Great way of listing flights in FareCompare. Cheapest first, but also includes length of stay. Support Line for those with 'Itinerary Numbers': 0800 339 0000.

Lastminute.com - Late deals. What you want is not always available as this site deals in specials. Quick return when it has your request available. Helpline: 0171 659 4900.

ebookers - Get flight seats online. Gives flight prices, but registration necessary for availability info. 0207 757 2626.

Dial-a-flight - Bargain air fares Give travel dates, destination and departure airport, and it finds best prices. 0870 333 4488.

Travel Select - Flight deals. Very easy to use, giving quick results, but you do have to check for availability. 0207 587 1400.

Cheap Flights - Discounted seats. Flights come in airport order, and to buy you must visit the site of the ticket supplier (e.g. STA travel etc.).

Easyjet - Cut price flights. Stelios brings us the 'cheapest flights' to a selection of European destinations. Very easy to book online, or phone to speak to someone. 0870 600000.

Space - Airtours bargain flights. Some good deals, but prices change quickly. Easy to book, but not online (via phone number). 0870 1616 747.

Go - British Airways cheap flights. Fly from Stanstead to destinations in Europe. Quite an easy to use site that explains things well. 0845 6054321.

Virgin Express - Routes around Europe. Cheapish prices. Easy to find details, although there are not always flights back on the dates you want. 0171 744 0004.

Deckchair - Searches millions of flight fares. Gives the cheapest fares it can find, but cheaper have been found elsewhere. E-mail support only.

Buzz - Cheap flights. Yet another cut price airline, flting to limited destinations in Europe. 0870 240 7070.

KLM UK - Can book flights directly. Quite a convoluted process, but there price appears in the end. Online booking is straightforward. 0870 507 4074.

Ryan Air - "Flights to Ireland, Scandinavia and Europe." Not the cheapest of airlines, despite its 'low fares' heading. 0870 333 1239.

The First Resort - A well rounded site. Not only does it offer bargain packages and last minute deals, but allows you to build your own holiday. No online sales (telephone nuimber), but a large amount of info and advice.

Thomson Holidays - Tailored holidays. Offering cruises, millennium breaks and weddings in paradise, this site is very strong in providing what you want from the holiday.

Bargainholidays.com - Last minute deals. Offers great bargains for those willing to depart in the next few days. We found a 14 night self-catering break in Florida for £139!

Thomas Cook - Package holidays to Europe. Fill in the details of your ideal holiday, and the database will find a Thomas Cook break suited to you. Covers further afield as well as Europe.

Cosmos - Holidays for sale. Price-graded holidays so that you can choose the one to suit your budget. Coach tours also available if flying is not for you.

Club Med - Holiday info. Slightly confusing site, which gives good information on albeit a limited number of venues, most of which are beyond Europe.

Alternative - Turkish holidays. Offers holidays in Turkey, from city breaks to golfing trips. Pretty basic site, with no online booking yet.

Oz Travel - Holidays in Australia and New Zealand. Tailor made holidays. Site guides you step by step throughout the whole online booking system, including flight, hotel, and car.

Discovery Initiatives - Remote holidays. Holidays with a difference for those who want to make a difference. Conservation mixed with discovering and walking in remote areas.

Sherpa Expeditions - Walking and cycling. Offers a wide range of walking holidays, both at home and abroad. Your luggage is transported between bases, be it camp sites or hotels.

All India - Indian travel and tourism site. Offers holidays in and information on India's cities and regions. Useful info such as visa requirements alongside cultural and sights-to-see details.

Health Advice for travellers - Advice from the Department of Health. Check down the list for health news from the country that you intend to visit. Details any health scares and info.
